Meet the team | Gabriel

The goal of these articles is to introduce the members of our team.

Here is Gabriel Terrien, Senior Lead Developer, who joined Per Angusta 2 years ago!

Let’s start with a quick Chinese portrait!

If you were a dish?
Pasta with black truffles. It’s sooooo good!

A destination?
Japan. I haven’t been there yet, but it’s in progress. For those born in the 80’s in France, it’s an essential pilgrimage! 🇯🇵

A famous character?
Jacques the Fatalist, by Denis Diderot. Do not trust the title … Jacques is convinced that everything is already written. As a result, he does whatever he wants with little thought given to consequences since he believes destiny is an illusion. It involves a crazy character, lots of intertwined stories, lively and funny writing, even multiple endings… THE book, my friends!

A tool? 🛠
A terminal. The code and command lines are intimidating until you realize that they are ultimately just words thought by humans, for humans. And it’s so powerful and creative!

What’s your last impulse purchase?
A Marshall-connected speaker. It’s not HiFi but has a warm and round sound. It wisely takes over when I turn off my headphones (I sometimes know silence, eh). The best tool is the one you use without thinking about it.

What did you do before joining Per Angusta?

Before being a developer, I worked in social and leisure centers. Then I came back to a teenage passion: code. First, I worked  as a freelancer and then as a Lead Developer at Naveco, which offers VTC services to companies. Being there from the beginning of their technological adventure was very stimulating

What is your current role within the Tech Team?

I am a Senior Developer at Per Angusta. I’m a versatile developer. On a daily basis, I do code reviews, deal with cross-functional topics, and attend to certain long-term tasks.

Tell us about a project that you are particularly proud to have participated in Per Angusta?

Like Marion, I enjoyed the eMyse project. I liked the fast prototyping side, the interactions with people who are passionate about the job we serve (I’m thinking in particular of By.O). It was a very stimulating project. I enjoyed seeing the positive reactions of customers and prospects at the launch of eMyse which came as a result of months of intensive work.

Why did you want to join Per Angusta?

Right from the beginning, I was happily surprised when I realized that the founder and CEO (Pierre Laprée) is both a specialist in the Procurement business and the first developer of the solution. His unique expert vision is reflected in Per Angusta’s recruitment of Procurement experts—whether for sales, CSM, or marketing profiles. As a developer, you have everything to gain from this kind of business DNA, especially because you are in a position to really meet the needs of users. Add to this a very good understanding of the technical issues at a management level, and you get a rather exceptionally attractive place to work.

Come on, you can tell us … 😉 is there something that you’re particularly proud of?

One of my hidden and totally useless talents is knowing how to solve a Rubik’s Cube between 12 (when I’m lucky) and 22 seconds.
